Chapter 01
Two different jobs wearing one name
Spring is about getting winter off the lawn so it can start. Matted leaf litter, snapped twigs, grit and salt washed in off the drive, and whatever blew in between November and March. Until that is off, the grass underneath is in the dark and the soil is cold.
Autumn is about not leaving a wet mat on it for five months. It is the same crew and similar kit, but the reason is the opposite and so is the deadline.
Booking them as one annual product is how people end up with a spring visit in late May, which is about six weeks after it was worth doing.

Why leaves left down are a lawn problem, not a tidiness problem
A packed wet leaf layer over a northern Illinois winter is a lid. It holds moisture against the crown of the grass, keeps light off it entirely, and stays cold and damp long after the surrounding lawn has dried out. Snow on top of that presses it flat and seals it.
You do not see the cost in November. You see it in April, as grey matted patches in the exact shape of where the leaves sat, usually along the fence line and under the biggest tree, and those patches are where the weeds get their opening.
Chapter 03
Storm debris and the stuff nobody wants to deal with
Branches, blown rubbish, fence panels, and whatever a storm dropped or carried in. It gets cleared as one pass so the property is usable again rather than being picked at over a month.
If something on the ground turns out to have come off a tree that is still unsafe, that is a tree service conversation and we will point it out rather than tidying around it.
Properties going on the market
We do a lot of this. Agents with a listing going live, owners trying to get a house photographed, and foreclosure or vacant properties that have to be brought back under control quickly, sometimes with a municipal notice already running.
A cleanup with a date on it is a deadline job, so it is quoted and scheduled as one rather than added to the end of the week. Tell us the listing date or the notice date when you call.
