Chapter 01
Pressure is the last thing you reach for
Most of what people call power washing is actually chemistry and patience. The right cleaner, left to dwell long enough to break down what is growing, then rinsed. Pressure is what you use to move loosened material, not what you use to remove bonded material.
Get that backwards and the damage is permanent and expensive. Water driven behind siding does not come back out quickly. A lance held too close etches soft timber, strips the face off older mortar and drives water into soffits and vents that were never designed to take it.
Nothing about that is visible on the day. It shows up as a stain that keeps coming back, or a soft board, months later.

A roof is not a driveway
The dark streaking down a roof is almost never dirt. It is biological growth, and it feeds on the limestone filler in the shingle, which is why it runs in streaks from the ridge rather than pooling where rain sits.
Blast that with pressure and you take the granules off with it. Those granules are the shingle's UV protection and most of its remaining life, and once they are in the gutter they are not coming back. A roof gets soft washed: cleaner, dwell time, low pressure rinse.
Chapter 03
Siding, and what the grime is sitting in
The same house usually needs different handling on different sides. A south elevation collects dust and pollen and mostly needs rinsing. A shaded north elevation, especially one with planting close to it, grows mould and mildew, and that is a cleaning problem rather than a rinsing one.
Which is why a property is walked before it is quoted rather than priced by square footage over the phone. Planting, glass and anything that does not like a cleaner gets covered or wetted down first.
Gutters and glass in the same visit
If the access is already set up, it is daft to come back for the gutters. Clearing them while the kit is out is cheaper for you and quicker for us.
Order matters. Gutters first, because clearing them sends debris and dirty water down the elevation, and glass last for the same reason. Doing it the other way round means cleaning the windows twice.
